The rooms are roomy, even by Western standards, and have balconies, though there's no view. The hotel feels rundown and like it has seen better days. The beach is a short walk away but isn't especially pristine, and the town doesn't offer much. There's a supermarket, a drugstore, and a laundromat nearby.

One of my students wrote this about the hotel: They said you can see the beautiful sea there and that it's near Masuhogaura Beach, where you can find lovely pink seashells. They also mentioned that the hotel has some hot springs.

There's a Family Mart right next door, but no restaurants within walking distance stay open late. The location feels inconvenient if you want to go bar hopping or explore the city, and the area seems a bit tricky for tourists. The hotel has direct beach access, so it might work for private use, though I think I'd pick somewhere else even for a stay with family or friends. I was looking for somewhere for a business trip since there are no business hotels nearby, only guesthouses. This place is reasonably priced, has Wi-Fi, a large public bath, and breakfast. The building feels older and a bit like something from the bubble era. It doesn't seem designed as a hotel, more like a third-sector property, and it doesn't have the feel of a villa, lol. My room was huge, almost too big for one person, and old but clean. Maybe because it was windy, I could hear the wind constantly. The indoor bath was fine. The open-air bath was at the very back of the outdoor baths, though, and when I went in the middle of the night it was pitch black with no lights. The jacuzzi was dilapidated and out of order, which made the area feel like an eerie abandoned building. No one else was around, and I couldn't bring myself to stand in the open-air bath. I wish they'd at least left the lights on. I expected more from breakfast after reading the reviews, but it was average, neither good nor bad. Nothing on the menu gave an oceanfront feel. The dining area has a glass roof, so I imagine it gets extremely hot on sunny summer days.

On our second stay, July 28, 2025, we found the water was shallow enough to gather lots of seashells. The beach lounge has restrooms, changing rooms, and showers, which made it convenient with children, and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Free Wi-Fi was available. They had a limited number of large swim rings and pumps to borrow. The facilities are a little old, but that's understandable, and there were some large bugs. The hallways were really hot, probably because they were saving on air conditioning. A backhoe was working on stairs between the lounge and beach, so we had to slip around to get through. Several contractors were there, so I didn't think there'd be an accident, but a heads-up from the front desk would've helped. Breakfast was the only option and was average, though the peach juice was delicious. I'm glad the hot springs and showers were included in the room rate, and I thought it was a great place to bring children. I do wish they'd cleaned up the beach a bit more.

We chose a loft-style Western room, and the kids were thrilled with the loft. The air conditioning worked across both floors, which was reassuring, and the food was plentiful and satisfying. The exterior and interior both looked beautiful. The central hall, which also serves as the dining area, has a high ceiling and lots of sunlight, so it feels open and spacious. A tunnel connects the hotel directly to the seaside lounge, where hot showers and a jacuzzi are handy after swimming. We could also use the neighboring Bohai Hot Springs, though some of the open-air baths weren't available, perhaps because of the pandemic or other operating issues.
