Hotel Sunriver Shimanto

The area was fun, and we had a great time in Shimanto. I stayed here on a bike-packing trip around Shikoku. The rooms are modern, and the bike lockers were really nice.

I stayed three nights in May 2018, about a month after the hotel opened, so everything was new and super clean. At roughly 5000yen a night, the room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed. The bathroom was small, but modern, and the shower head adjusted for height, so I didn't have to bend over like I sometimes do in Japanese hotels. The air conditioner was very quiet, and I slept fine with it on. Breakfast is served Japanese-style in the first-floor dining room for a reasonable 500yen. The location on the main road through town is convenient, and there's plenty of free parking.

I was glad to find a proper coffee mug in my room. This was a convenient, clean, modern business hotel at the end of the Shimanto River, a nice treat after a few days raveling down the river. There's a Family Mart right in front.

We had a surprisingly spacious room for four at this budget business hotel in the heart of Shimanto city. There's a convenience store less than a minute away, and plenty of places to eat nearby. The breakfast buffet is generous and costs only 500 yen, even if breakfast wasn't included when you booked. There's free parking on site, and it's a great base for day trips to the Shimanto river.
