The room was roomy and well kept, and the hotel was easy to find across the road from the train and bus stations. The staff were friendly. I especially want to thank the woman at the front desk on the afternoon of 8/6/2024. My Japanese is still very limited, and she helped me book scuba diving at the Shimoda Floating Aquarium when I was struggling to do it myself. Highly recommended.

We had a very happy stay. The rooms were clean, and the staff were wonderful. When rooms are available, they’ll even offer check-in 1-2 hours early without being asked, which really helps after a long trip when you arrive tired.

It’s an easy place to stay for getting to the sights, and the area around it is nice for a morning jog along the Shimoda Peninsula. The hotel is the usual business-hotel kind, so don’t expect a big room or a great view, but it was clean and convenient. Breakfast was included, just two tasty pieces of bread. The location is very good, about a two-minute walk from Izukyu Shimoda Station. There’s a fast food restaurant on the first floor, while check-in is on the third. A supermarket and convenience store are also nearby.

A handy little hotel right across from the train station, so we didn’t have to lug our bags far. McDonalds is nearby too, which was a welcome option for a kid after two weeks of healthy Japanese breakfasts.

It’s right across from the station, so the location is very convenient. The hotel feels a little dated but was still comfortable. The staff were helpful and let us check in early, even though that isn’t normally an option.
