The room was clean and I didn’t run into any inconveniences, so I do think this is a good place. But I was disappointed by the tent sauna. The Okinai sauna is a regular dry sauna, with a cold-water bath next to it that seems to use running tap water rather than a chiller. The outdoor tent sauna was probably under 60 degrees at this time of year, and cold air coming up from below the floor made my feet chilly. You can do a loyly, but it was weak and didn’t give much of that steamy feeling. I spent about four hours in the bathroom area and saw only one other group using it. There’s a hair-drying space outside, but a large TV there is too noisy, and part of the screen isn’t visible anyway. I wish they’d take it out.

I stayed in October 2025, and the room felt like an apartment. It reminded me of a young man’s place from a long time ago. The price was reasonable, but the service felt too strict. The hot spring stayed open until 11pm, then was closed the next morning for maintenance. My futon was torn, the slippers were broken, and the bath was the smallest I’ve ever used. At 9am, the cleaning lady accidentally came into the room. I’ll never stay here again. 😭

The towels were quite fluffy, which was about the only thing I could praise. The room was dirty, and there wasn’t an outlet beside the pillow. There’s no elevator, either, so carrying bags up is inconvenient.

I liked that smoking was allowed, and the price was reasonable. Breakfast was tasty, as was the Choshu Samurai ramen at the nearby Uomasa Honjin. I’d stay here again.
