The house is gorgeous and old, with clean, comfortable, beautiful rooms. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the hospitality was genuinely one of my best experiences. It’s very close to Shimosuwa station and Suwa Taisha Shimosa Akimiya shrine, so the location is great. An absolute must if you’re staying in Suwa. I’m looking forward to coming back next visit.

Guesthouse Masuya is a great base for seeing Lake Suwa and the surrounding area. The wooden guesthouse is beautiful, and it has a really welcoming atmosphere. The hosts are lovely, speak English very well, and gave us great recommendations for the city's hotspots. A wonderful stay, thank you for everything!

There’s parking for people riding motorcycles who want to carve the Venus line too. I had a lot of fun meeting other travelers in the common area, where the bar and fireplace brought everyone together to share stories. I slept well and would stay again when I’m back in Suwa. My one wish is that they’d offer a simple breakfast. This little guesthouse was an amazing place to stay, though it was a bit hard to find without GPS. I hadn’t expected the temperature to drop so much, and the staff went out of their way to keep me warm, bringing a “yutampo” and extra blankets.

We had everything we needed here, including complimentary teas, good free wifi, and a handy kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and dishes. The bar area was spacious too. The common spaces, showers, and toilets are shared, but it never felt inconvenient. Mashi, our bartender, was really friendly and helpful. Our cousin connected us with this hidden gem. It would’ve been hard to find without them, but thank God for Google maps. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back on our next visit. Arigato for a special experience!
