We only came for the fishing and a meal, not to stay overnight. Catching our own fish was fun for everyone, and while some of our group went for a bath, the rest of us ate. You hand your catch to the woman and choose how you want it cooked; pictures make that easy even if you don't speak Japanese. They bring it out with rice, miso soup, daikon, and salad. The fish were medium-sized, and sitting outside had a nice feel to it.

Used this place as a base for a recent hiking trip. The owners were really nice, the onsen was good, and the food was decent.

The dinner felt like a generous meal at my parents' home, unpretentious and really tasty. It was nice having other guests in the dining room too, so it felt lively instead of lonely. I stayed over New Year's to visit Kurohime Kogen Snow Park, and the hotel seemed to offer discounted tickets. Being able to spend until around 5 pm at the ski resort and then get back to the hotel soon after was very convenient. I'd happily go again.

This is an older inn, with a few worn spots, but it was clean and comfortable for the price. I was there for skiing. It isn't luxurious, the meals aren't extravagant, and the service may not be the most convenient, but I found it reasonably priced. The weekend was busy enough that staff seemed a bit stretched, though nothing in particular went wrong. I hope places like this can keep going, especially with what seem to be more overpriced accommodations aimed at inbound tourists appearing in the area.

The rainbow trout is my pick at the fishing pond, especially deep-fried with that sweet-and-sour sauce. It's so good, and I've loved it since I was a kid. They cook the fish you catch right there, so it's fresh and delicious.
