Kurohime Kogen Hotel

On March 1, 2026, while I was undressed in the women's changing room for the large bath, a man came in without saying anything. I was shocked and frightened. I reported it to the manager right away, but he first denied it and offered explanations like “I'm the only staff member there” and “You and your husband were the only customers,” rather than checking what happened or showing concern. He said he hadn't entered the facility. Shouldn't a manager first express concern for guests and find out what happened? When I raised it, he spoke to me in a scolding, overbearing way, which left me very anxious and stressed as a user. The police later came and investigated, and they're now using security camera footage to try to identify who entered. The camera is quite far from the entrance to the large bath, so identifying him may be difficult. Whether the person was a male hotel employee, including the manager, or someone else, I believe the hotel is responsible for how easily a man was able to enter a women's-only area and for not having adequate security cameras. I have serious distrust in how the women's area is managed and how users are treated when something goes wrong. Anyone considering using the facility should also take its response policy into account.

The ski resort is right in front of the hotel, and I still remember sneaking my phone out of the hotel in my pocket to take pictures, always worried a teacher would catch me. Phones weren't allowed during our school event. A few years ago, I stayed here for three nights and four days for that event. Our Japanese-Western room had space for six, but it was spacious enough that we all felt comfortable.

We chose this place because pets are allowed and we wanted to visit the dog slopes at Kurohime Snow Park. The location was great, and it was nice that guests could bathe after check-out. For the price, though, don't expect much from the food.

The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made this one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a while. The rooms were great, too. I came in summer and had an amazing time. If you want a comfortable place near Nagano's gorgeous mountains, I'd recommend it!
