Goto Islands Resort Hotel Margherita Narao

We found getting around easy because the hotel is close to Narao Port. The room was clean and stylish, and the amenities felt more luxurious than at other hotels. Our child had toys, children's amenities, and loungewear in the room, which helped a lot. Dinner was delicious and filling, especially the sashimi, Goto beef rice cooked in an earthenware pot, and oyster tempura. There were lots of rice accompaniments at breakfast, and we could have seconds, so we left full. When our child got fussy during a meal, the restaurant staff gently soothed them. Our child warmed up to them and was happy by the end, so we could eat at ease. The large public bath is in a separate building, reached by going outside through the entrance. There's no covered path, so rain could make the walk difficult. It's an indoor-only bath, but the sea view from the window was beautiful. The sauna was relaxing with birdsong, though there was no cold plunge pool, only a shower.

The food was the main reason I booked after reading the reviews, and it absolutely lived up to them. Both dinner and breakfast were far better in taste and amount than I expected. I came to the Goto Islands to eat good fish, and that goal was met completely. The view was superb too, with lots of stars visible at night. The hotel itself felt refined, quiet, and lovely. We could use the hot spring bath next door, and after 7 PM it was only for hotel guests. It felt almost private, so we could relax in the spacious bath. The inn might not suit families, but for a couple looking for somewhere quiet and stylish, I think it's perfect. Bring or buy your own amenities for the hot spring, since there's no facial cleanser, lotion, or moisturizer. There are no convenience stores nearby, and the shops shut early, so it's better to get what you need ahead of time.

The view was fantastic, and the location worked out well for our wedding anniversary. They prepared a wonderful room for our celebration, and all the staff were friendly and pleasant. We were impressed by the stylish, delicious dinner and breakfast.

We came back because our previous stay with my grandmother had been so wonderful. The view from the room was spectacular, and this visit made a lovely memory for us during our late summer vacation. We really appreciate how thoughtfully everyone handled our different requests. My grandmother is elderly and her legs are quite weak, so borrowing a wheelchair helped a lot. Our first-floor room had a ramp to the restaurant, which made getting around smooth, and there was plenty of space between seats. The staff were incredibly hospitable. We eat lightly, and last time we were full before finishing the course, so this time we asked for smaller portions and managed to enjoy even the main course. They were considerate about details like how well the meat was cooked, and the sashimi was my personal favorite. They have Italian beers such as Peroni as well as local sake. We could take dessert back to the room this time, and it was delicious.
