Auberge Nanami

The coffee was really good, and so were the pasta and cakes. It’s a lovely little coffee shop run by a lovely couple.

The food was delicious, and the serving size felt just right. I came for a late lunch after finding the two restaurants next door closed at 2 PM, so I gave this newly opened place a try. There doesn’t seem to be a separate lunch and dinner menu. I ordered the tomato pasta for ¥1100, which came with salad and bread, followed by a small coffee. The WiFi worked well, too. The piano and mature feel of the room were quite different from the younger music, and I felt a bit self-conscious in my flip-flops.

The squid dishes are especially good here. It’s a cafe on a remote island, run by a fisherman who knows his fish inside out. They’re also working to revitalize the island with fresh farmed tuna, and the music events are fun.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The owner took us around the local area, which made the trip feel much more in-depth. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with incredibly fresh ingredients that really came through in the dishes. We stayed overnight.
