We were warm and comfortable in the room, thanks to an effective heater. The bed was firm, and there was an extra blanket, though I didn’t need it. The shower had strong pressure and very hot water, and the room came with amenities and yukatas. We slept really well during our one night here. Before check-in, communication was great while I asked about forwarding our luggage. It had already been delivered to the room when we arrived. The hotel suited us perfectly after the Nakasendo Trail. There was a small free breakfast with bread, butter, jam, yogurt, coffee, and tea, just what we needed before setting off again. Shiojiri made a convenient quick stop, with plenty of good izakayas and restaurants nearby. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Right by the station, with lots of dinner choices nearby and the Nakasendo right there. It’s cheap and great value. The building is old and the rooms feel dated, but everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the room worked well. The place is also very well organised.

The hot shower had strong pressure, and breakfast was free and basic, which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful, though they didn’t speak English; they managed well with translation apps and had some instructions in English. The free Wi-Fi was pretty slow. We stayed two nights. The room was clean and tidy, but felt tight with two bags, which seems common in Japan. The bed was firmer than we’re used to, and because the room faced an intersection, we didn’t sleep very well.

There’s a laundry area where you can wash and dry clothes, and the room has all the conveniences you’d need. The hotel is just across the road from the station, and the staff were both friendly and really helpful.
