The hot springs were lovely and didn’t dry out my skin, and I’d be happy to stay again. I was especially impressed by how delicious all the food was. As a solo traveler, I could eat in a semi-private room without having to meet other people, which was great. The service was excellent too. This is the best inn I’ve stayed at, so good that I almost worried it might get too popular and become hard to book.

The detached room, “Osmanthus,” was wonderfully comfortable. I finally understand the name, the scent was nostalgic and lovely. There’s no ocean view, which might be a downside in Shirahama, but the hot spring water and the food more than made up for it. The spring water flows freely, and it changed how I think of Shirahama Onsen. Every dish tasted great, looked thoughtfully arranged, and arrived at just the right time. The food was so intricately made that I found myself wondering who was cooking it and wishing I could meet them someday. The whole place has a tasteful feel, but isn’t overly expensive, making it a good hot spring inn for adults who want to relax without feeling self-conscious. Food quality seems to be slipping at many inns, so I hope they keep doing things this way.

We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and stayed in a separate room at this small, cozy inn. It has the feel of a traditional Japanese house and a quiet retreat for adults. The room was spotless and pleasant, and the bath was clean with excellent water. I went in several times. The food really is as delicious as people say, and the staff were wonderful. I’d love to return.

We spent the New Year holiday here, in a clean, lovely room with a semi-open-air bath. Since the hot spring water flows freely, we could soak whenever we wanted, which was very satisfying. Both meals were served in semi-private rooms, and the food was excellent, with lots of variety. Dinner was a set course, while breakfast included things like dried fish and boiled tofu. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, and their service left a strong impression. They were cheerful and clearly dedicated. Our last trip of the year was fantastic. Thank you so much.
