Hotel Kawakyu

The place is beautiful and the service was very good. Some of the other guests put me off, though. There was a loud, annoying boy with no parents around to guide him. At dinner, another guest, an adult man, gave my family angry looks and spoke badly about one of my family members loudly enough for me to hear. At an expensive, high-end hotel, I expected guests with good manners. I'm not sure I'd come back because of the other bothersome guests.

The hotel design is something to admire, and I enjoyed my stay from the clean room to the delicious buffet meals. When we arrived after several hours of travel, staff greeted us at the entrance and let us have dinner before checking in. The room was a little hot, and there was no panel to adjust the temperature. Otherwise, just wow. If I can save up, I'd definitely love to return. This may be the best hotel I've stayed at, and it's truly one of a kind.

The dinner and morning buffets had an amazing selection, and we really enjoyed them. Our room had a nice view and good amenities. One of the hot springs had been renovated, and the new one had a breathtaking view. It was amazing. The other hot spring was a bit too simple.

Our favorite hotel in Shirahama, and it always feels great to come back. The staff are very polite, the lobby is stunning, and it has that remnant of the Japanese bubble era. The room sizes are above average, mostly suites, and staying here makes you feel special. The food is good, and there's a nice indoor pool and spa. A lunch buffet is available from time to time. You can use the pool without staying overnight for 1,000 yen.
