Spa Inn Shirahama

There was just one front desk clerk, an odd old man, and I should've read the reviews before booking. There are better hotels with discounts online, and I paid about the same for this lower-quality place. English speakers, be aware: the old man can't speak English or communicate well with hand signs either. There aren't any other staff.

The neighborhood was nice, and the sea view was good, though I expected more. The only thing I really liked about the hotel was the furniture. The rate was cheap, but the bathroom was dirty, the air conditioner was full of dust, and the toilet seat was broken. Close by, there's a coffee shop called Tsumugi Cafe that was wonderful. They serve Turkish dishes and have a Turkish gift shop inside. The food was delicious, the staff very kind, and the gifts amazing.

It's cheap, but the service isn't good. There's no hand soap, and the old building is dirty 😖. The old man called us a couple of times to ask whether we were coming, which was bothersome. He wasn't very kind to us as foreigners. I'm not coming back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

For Shirahama, the price isn't bad, and the room was decent. The place is nothing fancy, but elsewhere, if you can find a room at this price, it'll cost double or triple. It's right across from the Sandanbeki caves, which is handy. The front desk guy was really friendly and helpful. Shirahama Beach is just a few minutes away by car, or you can walk there if you aren't carrying much.
