The service was good, and the onsen, with both indoor and outdoor facilities, was okay. Breakfast was okay too, nothing special, though the stay felt like good value. The self-service laundry was the cheapest in town. You can't wear shoes inside, which was a first for me in Japan. They even wiped our luggage until it was unbelievably clean. One thing to know: not every Japanese-style room has a bathroom attached. There is a toilet, but if you're used to having a shower or bathroom in the room, check before booking. I found that setup odd and inconvenient, especially for women during that time of the month. I also saw a woman cleaner walk through the bathhouse for the first time. The toilet door is so small it seems built for tiny people.

The onsen was probably the best part, and the rooms were quiet and very comfortable, though on the small side as Japanese rooms often are. The hotel itself is clean, quaint, and modern, and it's a great place to stay. There's not much around, so having a car would help. A note for anyone reading older reviews: people writing in 2024 and earlier mention dated rooms, but all the rooms were renovated in 2025 and are now brand new.

We stayed two nights with family and enjoyed the indoor and outdoor onsen baths. The hotel was clean, modern, and very nice. The staff were kind and accommodating, and even changed breakfast to a vegetarian meal for one of my family members. Driving is more convenient, and there's a large car park with free parking, but you can also come by train. Kojohama station is the nearest one. Highly recommend!

Dinner was reasonably priced and good, and the Japanese-style set breakfast was excellent and generous, though I wasn't sure exactly what we were eating. The cod roe was a highlight for some in our group. You can walk down to the ocean and see this fishing town at work, including fish drying outside in winter. The rooms are new and large for Japan, though there's limited hanging space. The onsen looked brand new, with four indoor pools at different temperatures, one outdoor pool, and a sauna. There's also a relaxation room and a TV room with individual chairs, each with its own TV. This is a great place to stay in the area if you have a car. We took a day trip to Noboribestu Onsen.

We enjoyed the quiet, relaxing ryokan, the delicious food, the genuine onsen, and the friendly service. The price felt too high for what was offered: we paid 300 USD for one night in a big room with dinner, breakfast, and onsen, and thought that was just too much. Apart from that, everything was fine. Getting around can be tricky. Buses only run three or four times a day, and sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes for a taxi. The hotel has a shuttle, but departures are limited, and it was fully booked when we wanted to return to Sapporo.
