I stayed with three friends the night before climbing Mt. Komagatake in Akita. The hot spring water was very good, though the spring is at the far end of the indoor bath and you have to go through the window to reach it. Dinner had a good variety and was delicious. We had to cancel breakfast at the last minute and ask for rice balls because we were leaving early, and they kindly accommodated us.

I’d suggest not going. There are plenty of good guesthouses nearby.

It’s been about eight years since I stayed there, but the memories came back, so I wanted to post. Dinner was absolutely delicious, with local meat and seafood delivered directly from the market. It was a nice surprise to enjoy Aomori regional dishes in Shizukuishi, Iwate, since that’s where the owner is from. The room felt homey and I slept really well. Please check with the inn about what services are available now.

A cozy little family-run guesthouse with just three upstairs rooms. The owner cooks both breakfast and dinner herself, which gives the place a homey feel. There’s also a hot spring bath with indoor and outdoor pools.

I went there with a friend to try the place out, but they yelled at us unfairly. I think it’s better not to go.
