Tabist Shizukuishi Resort Hotel

I liked the quiet surroundings, and the room was clean and well priced. Special thanks to the restaurant staff for looking after me during my stay. I’d like to return someday. You’d need a car to get here, since it’s around 15-20 minutes from Morioka.

The room was nicely cleaned, and the staff were very friendly. Since it’s a converted love hotel, the rooms are spacious compared with a business hotel, with a separate bath and toilet, a tub you can stretch out in, and a large-screen TV. It’s quite far from Morioka’s center, there are no restaurants nearby, and the hotel is at the entrance to the love hotel district. Still, with a car and meals from the nearby convenience store, it’s not inconvenient.

We’ve stayed here twice with the family because we like the location, and the view from the hotel is great too. We’re satisfied. There may have been school trip students there, and the lobby was lively. ^_^

The breakfast at the attached Italian restaurant was all homemade and delicious. There were three kinds of oven-baked dishes, pasta, which was Neapolitan that day, and grilled fish as the main course. The Neapolitan was so good I went back for seconds, even though I don’t usually eat it at buffets. The miso soup had a rich broth too. The restaurant is apparently popular with locals and busy at lunchtime. This is my third stay in the Shizukuishi area. The place has the grand name “Shizukuishi Resort Hotel,” but it used to be a “love hotel,” which explains the roomy rooms. The bathroom is large and has a TV, and the big mirror and bright lights made me laugh. Very comfortable. There aren’t many restaurants around, but the convenience store next door is handy. The yakiniku and cold noodle restaurant I went to last night was a 12-13 minute walk away. Once it gets dark there are almost no streetlights, and I was seriously scared of bears. They’re often seen around here, and it really is bear country. That morning, one was spotted near the closest station, Koiwai Station, with a report that it had headed south from there. I guess I need bear-repellent gear when I go out... (^◇^;)
