Sai Hotel

Everything was clean, and the service was kind and pleasant. Check-in was confusing because of the different bed types, but I ended up with a private loft for a decent price. It had two beds, so I assume the price would have been split if someone else had joined me, making it even better value. They kindly gave me hangers to air-dry my laundry. The location is near the station, though it’s still noisy: from my fifth-floor room I could hear the crosswalk. I also didn’t like having to shower with a group of other men.

The capsule and cabin rooms are a decent size, and the mattresses are comfortable. I booked a female-only room, but it was in the same small area as the other capsules, separated only by an unsecured sliding door. That wasn’t what I expected based on other capsule hotels like first cabin. I also hated that the only shower was in the onsen, which isn’t always available because men and women have separate time slots.

The location is phenomenal, right beside the main station. I’ve never had a dorm room this good on all my travels. Everything was clean and new, and having bathrooms inside the dorm was super convenient. The bathroom had an onsen-like tub and was one of the cleanest I’ve used. It felt like I’d accidentally landed in a 5-star hotel.

Best dorm I’ve stayed in so far. Just keep in mind the bath is a public onsen. I’m a guy and that’s fine for me, but women may want to consider it. Men and women have different time slots.
