We had a magnificent night here. The service was so kind, and they even gave us a welcome present. The rooms were fantastic, with amazing views, and the public baths were very good too. There’s no elevator, which was the one inconvenience. We went to the Shodoshima festival, and when it ended, heavy rain started. There were no taxis or buses at that hour, and it would have been an hour’s walk, so the staff kindly came to pick us up. They were so nice about it. It’s a little hard to reach from Tonosho, though not from Ikeda, and it’s expensive since you pay per guest. Still, I thought it was very worth it and recommend it. We knew Japanese, but they made a real effort to speak with us in English, so it should be okay even if your Japanese isn’t perfect.

The views were great, and the setting was relaxing, with lots of trails nearby for walks. It’s also close to places like Olive garden, Angel Road, and other Olive farms. The food was delicious and the staff kind. You’ll need Japanese, but it was a fun stay.

My main complaint is the coin laundry dryer. An hour did very little for some of my clothes, so it’s nearly useless. Otherwise, this is a great place, with friendly staff and clean facilities. Breakfast and dinner are good if you choose to eat here. There’s a nice range of souvenirs and an on-site coin laundry, and the hotel can pick you up and drop you off at Ikeda port (Ikeda Port). We used Japanese throughout, so I’m not sure what English support is like. Being here without a car takes some effort, but it’s doable: buses run nearby around the island, though you’ll need to walk to stops and check the timetable. Hotel staff can also call a taxi.

The accommodation feels a little dated, but it still works well. The panorama over the Bay is magnificent, and the breakfast and dinner were both very tasty. A lovely place to spend your holiday nights.

The food was pretty good and the staff were nice, but cleanliness was really poor. The onsen was the worst I’ve been to, very dirty and full of bugs.
