The free buffet breakfast with rice was something I loved, and the hotel is near the train station. I stayed for two days in a double room by myself, so the bed was just right for me. There was a small table and chair, a refrigerator, a hot pot, one large shower towel and a smaller face towel, plus a set of nightwear. The attached bathroom had hot water, and WiFi was free. Everything else was fine, though the toilet button for men didn’t work. The bidet did.

I was charged another hotel tax in cash at check-in, even though Travelocity had already charged a so-called tax of over 17% of the booking amount. Travelocity confirmed that the hotel collected that entire extra charge. The itinerary called it tax rather than fees, but Japan’s taxes aren’t that high. It seemed highly suspicious and potentially fraudulent. The low rating also reflects the free breakfast buffet that had no meat, and the elevator, which anyone from the street could enter without going past the front desk.

Breakfast was quite adequate, and the room cleaning staff did a very good job. The receptionists were polite and helpful with what I needed, and both check-in and check-out were easy. The location is very strategic, the rooms are compact but functional, and the internet connection was good.
