Sunny Stone Hotel

The price is great for such an incredible location, right next to Esaka station. Rooms are tiny, but it's not a capsule hotel, and you can still find one online for around 5000-6000 yen a night. Realistically, that's about all you can ask for. The first floor and front desk are mysteriously very fancy and glamorous, so don't expect the lounge atmosphere to match your room.

The rooms are terrible. People are allowed to smoke in them, and neither the bathroom nor bedroom was properly cleaned. The annex hallway where I stayed had no air conditioning, so the air felt very polluted. Don't use this hotel.

Getting around Osaka was easy since the hotel is right beside the train station. It’s a nice budget option, and the simple breakfast included was satisfying.

The cramped room made it hard to move around, and the service left the stay unbearable. I checked out yesterday during the earthquake period and was leaving early, but the staff did nothing to help me find a taxi. I nearly missed my flight because none were available. They acted as if it wasn’t their concern and said there was nothing they could do. They also couldn’t speak English. One Chinese-speaking staff member, who I understood because I know Chinese, was rude and inefficient. Japanese people were also so unhelpful when I needed help. I’m never coming back to Osaka. Poor people, poor hotel, poor city.
