Hibari Onsen Hotel

I got an all-day ticket, which covered towels and loungewear. The baths are great, both indoors and outside, and the place is large without feeling too crowded. There are relaxing areas, including a tatami room where you can sleep and watch TV. They also have tables with fireplaces where you can have beer or sake. I’ll definitely return when the kids have sports events nearby.

There’s plenty to enjoy outside the baths too, with a relaxation area, free table tennis and a space for kids. The indoor sauna is spacious and over 100°C, while the outdoor section has a barrel sauna at about 80°C and a wooden plunge pool for one person. The cold plunge uses cold spring water. The natural hot spring flows freely, and the water is excellent. I wondered if it came from the same source as Ayuri Onsen, which I visited the day before, since both springs are slippery and drinkable. But the texture and smell when drinking them were a little different.
