Awajishima Eight Minshuku

I stayed with my one-year-old son, and the hostess was lovely, always smiling and kind. We hadn't ordered food for him, but she thoughtfully offered to make sure he had something to eat, which I really appreciated. The food was hearty and satisfying. There were no bath towels, which was a bit of a hassle, and noise in the middle of the night woke my son several times. Thank you for saying he was so smart. I'm planning to return, and would be happy if you remembered us.

This was more than 30 years ago, back when the internet wasn't widespread. I was living in Osaka and stayed here with four friends. I was in the rugby club as a student, playing number eight, and that time still brings back a lot of memories. I live far away now, so visiting is hard, but I hope I can make it back someday. Keep up the good work.

It had the simple, homey feel of staying at a friend's place. The meal was really satisfying, especially the hot pot made mostly with big pieces of sea bream from Naruto.

The food was incredibly delicious, with fresh seafood, and the stay was inexpensive. If you don't mind basic facilities, you'll be satisfied. It's an old-fashioned guesthouse run with a lot of effort by an 81-year-old grandmother, and I appreciate her hard work. The rooms weren't particularly clean, the view wasn't great, and the toilet was traditional Japanese style with no bidet. The floor shook a little when walking. The bathroom was for one person, with three showers. Payment was cash only, with no electronic money or PayPay. Delicious meal!
