I couldn't find a pet-friendly place for my Sendai trip, so I called this hotel. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and said my dog could roam anywhere in the room, so I booked right away. It's a natural, retro-style hotel, but everything was spotless and the tatami mats had been replaced. They served dinner in our room, which was a thoughtful touch. The binchotan charcoal bath warmed me right through, and breakfast was a heartwarming meal too. I was so grateful to relax there with my beloved dog.

The breakfast buffet included local dishes, and I was very satisfied. Although I don't smoke, I stayed in a smoking room. It had a strong deodorizer smell, but that didn't bother me. I'd recommend this place to motorcyclists. When I stayed, there was a covered parking space set aside for motorbikes, separate from a space for one car. The building is old, as other reviews mention, but inside it's very clean and I had no issues.

There were several groups of students there, probably on a sports trip. I liked having a sofa in the room, and there was a shared massage chair you could use for free. I stayed in winter, and the large public bath was extremely cold. The chairs were oddly high or low, too. I wish they'd had regular-height ones.

There are manga, welcome drinks, and massage chairs, so they're doing a good job on those extras. The large public bath is old, with six washing stations and a gourd-shaped tile tub. The place has a grand Showa-era feel, which might be hard for younger guests or people who are very particular about cleanliness. There seems to be a wedding hall, waiting rooms, and several other rooms, and they even still have those board-like mosquito mats. The rooms have carpet and some stains, and it's not clear how far inside you're allowed to wear shoes. There's a single-door fridge. It's very cheap, so it's fine for an older guy like me.

They served dinner in my room, so I could eat at my own pace. Breakfast was a buffet with zunda mochi, and everything was delicious. Women can rent shampoo, and the lobby has barley tea, iced coffee, coffee, and black tea. The building is old, but my room, toilet, and bath were clean, and I was comfortable during my stay.
