The staff made things easy even though they didn't speak English, using Google Translate to communicate. They also let me leave my bags before the 3 PM check-in, which was really handy. The facilities were clean, and I got to enjoy an early morning visit to the public bath. I had originally hoped to stay in Sendai, but its budget hotels were booked, so I ended up in Tagajo. It turned into a pleasant stay and a chance to see somewhere new. Tagajo Station is a bit of a trek, with quite a few traffic lights on the way.

The rooms were fine, and so was the public bath, though it was really hot, so be careful. The Japanese breakfast looked good, but the Western option was very small. A good place, just quite far from Sendai city.

I barely slept because of the noise that went on from midnight until morning. The staff said it was coming from the central air conditioning system and they couldn't fix it. I was completely exhausted. 😩

I speak very little Japanese, but the staff were really supportive. Castle Plaza Hotel was amazing, with spacious, spotless rooms and a hot bath I enjoyed. All the amenities are there, and the price feels incredibly low for first-class service. I'm from Southern Africa.
