Really tasty food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a cozy hotel. The onsen was great too.

The proprietress was very personable, and I'd definitely like to come back. I tried the optional tasting of three kinds of sake, which was delicious. The food wasn't luxurious, but it was nicely presented and tasted good. The building is old, though the rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the trees you can see from the garden and open-air bath were neatly pruned.

I came to Niigata for the first time and stayed here during the trip. It was a really enjoyable visit, and I've got fond memories of it. Thanks so much, and I hope the staff family keeps up the good work. The hot spring left my skin feeling smooth, and I was very happy with it. I ate a lot because the food was so good, especially the delicious Niigata rice. They also seem to have day-use baths, so I'd recommend the place. The room had an old-fashioned feel, and the whole atmosphere was relaxing. The kind staff and retro style made me feel like I was at my grandmother's house. It was a great place to rest and recover from the trip. I couldn't find Tet-chan, the mascot cat, though I really wanted to meet him. Animal lovers might enjoy this inn.

The owner and staff were warm and helpful whenever anything came up. The spring bath was a comfortable temperature, and there's an outdoor pool as well. It's about a 15-minute walk from Tanoe Station. I'd recommend it.

The inn is old, but very clean. A 7-Eleven is nearby, and there's a coin laundry across the road. Walking there is possible, though the place sits on a small hill, so the return means walking uphill. I visited in mid-August, drawn by the friendly sign 😻 and the promise of breakfast featuring Niigata rice. My standard plan included dinner in the room, and the nine dishes were delicious. Breakfast was in a separate dining area. The rice at dinner was fragrant, glossy, and tasty, but at breakfast its smell seemed a bit questionable despite what I'd heard about it. The bath runs on the cool side, but it warms you up well. It bubbles at first, though it seems they need to add a little chlorine, which reacts with the hot spring ingredients.
