The guesthouse sits a bit beyond Takamatsu's center, so getting around takes some planning. The bus ride is manageable, but it only comes hourly and takes about 30-45 minutes; the last one back is around 8 or 8:30 in the evening. In return, it’s a quiet, lovely place to stay on Shikoku. The host is kind, makes a great Japanese breakfast, and can pick you up or drop you off at a nearby train station if needed. He drove me there on checkout day, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Mt Yashima is about 20 minutes away by bus for a hike, and the host may be able to take you to a wonderful nearby viewpoint too. Everything was very clean, and the tatami beds were cozy and comfortable. I woke up to a beautiful view from the window.

I still think about the beautiful harbor view and sunset from my room, even though I stayed here five years ago. Seto Otojuan had only just opened then, with few guests. Although I’d booked a shared room, Ikeda-san gave the other guests a separate room so we could all have privacy. When I missed my ferry to Naoshima, Ikeda-san drove me to a nearby sightseeing spot, then took me to the harbor for the next ferry. Another day, we went out for sanuki udon at a popular place. The breakfast was delicious, too. Thank you very much！ I hope I can come back soon : )

We were there for Hanabi (Japanese fireworks festival), then went on to Naoshima Island. The owner knew the local area well. This is a lovely traditional Japanese house, and the host was warm, friendly, and helpful. We skipped the breakfast, which cost an extra ¥500, though it looked amazing.

The owner was incredibly welcoming, picking us up at the train station and driving us to local spots for free. The big, home-cooked Japanese breakfast was only $500 yen per person. The room had a great view, and the place was quiet and relaxing, with an onsen, beach, and mountain walks all within walking distance. Highly recommended!
