The buffet was the real highlight: dinner and breakfast had a fairly decent selection. The view was great, and there’s a small play area for kids in the lobby. The rooms, though, were really disappointing. They’re dated, which I could accept, but not the poor maintenance and cleanliness. There was mold everywhere, rusty taps and walls patched up haphazardly. It gave me the impression they’d stopped trying.

The staff and food were the best things about this hotel. Everyone was very nice and helpful, and the dinner and breakfast buffets were better than I expected. The food wasn’t top quality, but it was good enough and there was a huge range. They had six kinds of strawberries with unlimited servings, and we could take strawberries and other desserts, tea and coffee back to our room after dinner. The view was stunning as well. The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms need renovation. The futons were old and a little dusty. Still, it’s a good choice for staying near Mt Aso.

The buffet was great, with fresh sashimi, local hot dishes and fruit, including strawberries. Our Japanese-style room was comfortable, and there’s a public onsen. Staff gave excellent service and responded satisfactorily to my urgent requests. The hotel is in a convenient spot for visiting both Aso and Takachiho Gorge, with a visitor centre nearby. I’d definitely recommend it.

The buffet dinner had six types of fresh strawberries, and both dinner and breakfast were great. There are good mountain views, and you can request an air purifier for your room. The hotel is a bit old, but it’s extremely good value for money.

The Mount Aso view was amazing, and the location was very convenient, with plenty of parking and a grocery store a five-minute drive away. Our traditional tatami rooms felt like grandma’s place in the 90s. They were spacious, and the tatami beds were comfortable. There’s laundry on the second floor. The hotel is family friendly, with a play pen for kids and toys in the lobby. The amenities felt more dated than the photos suggested, and the rooftop was closed during our late September visit.
