The location is easy to reach from the Nohi Bus Center via the Sarubobo Bus Platform/Gate 1, or by taxi when the bus isn't running. The owners were very accommodating. Since we couldn't use their free shuttle to the Nohi Bus Center on the morning of our stay, they arranged a taxi for us in advance. The shuttle runs every 45 minutes from 6:15AM to 9:30AM. The guesthouse is quiet, clean, and has a nice blend of traditional and modern style. The rooms are bigger than most places we stayed in Japan. On the ground floor there's a vending machine, kitchen and dining area with a wood fire heater, showers, and coin laundry and dryer. Bedrooms, separate men's and women's toilets, lockers, and shared seating are upstairs on the second floor. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Our first time staying in a guesthouse, and we enjoyed every bit of it. The bath facility was our favourite, and it was very clean. The place is a little outside the town center, with lovely views of the forest and Alps. Hida no Sato folk village is about a 10-minute walk away. They also run an early morning shuttle to Takayama station, so I'd ask about the schedule when you arrive.

The female dorm was especially lovely, with a city view and a small table and chairs, and the whole house was peaceful. This is a charming, locally owned guesthouse with very friendly owners. It's a bit of a hike from the bus and train station, but they have a free shuttle at certain times that you can book. I'd happily stay here again when I return.

The price is reasonable, and the owner is great and speaks English quite well. There's a handy shared kitchen and showers, plus laundry for a small fee. They also have a free shuttle to the city center, free umbrellas, and inexpensive bike rentals. Rooms have air conditioning, a heated fan, and blankets you can warm up.
