The water at Kitagata Onsen Nanairo no Yu was incredibly silky, much like the beautifying water at Ryujin Onsen, Wakayama. I went straight out to the rotenburo while it was drizzling, and it was lovely. There’s a big main outdoor bath at 41.3°C, plus a wooden deck with a round wooden tub, a glazed clay tub, and a rectangular wooden bath. The wooden ones smell nice. A bridge between the indoor baths leads outside. Inside, there are three baths at different temperatures, including 39.9°C and 40.9°C, along with a cold spring bath and a good-sized sauna. The baths are compact but still spacious and separated by gender, and I left wanting more. They provide shampoo, body soap, toner, moisturizer, cotton buds, and a hair dryer. Lockers for your belongings cost just ¥10. Nice!

There’s a nice outdoor bath, and the shop has plenty of souvenirs.

I like coming here because the water is good, there are several different baths, and it’s not too crowded. When I arrive in the early afternoon, there are usually only a few people, so I can relax. It’s a day-trip hot spring with a refundable 100-yen locker for outdoor shoes and a 20-yen locker in the bathing area that you don’t get back. There’s a 10-yen change machine. The building is pretty old, and the rest areas are basic, with almost nowhere to relax after bathing. It’s far from Takeo Onsen town and doesn’t have that typical Takeo atmosphere.

Seeing the moon from the open-air bath in my room at night was especially memorable. It was my first stay in a detached Japanese-style room with its own outdoor bath, and I loved being able to use it anytime, day or night. The water was excellent, and the stay felt luxurious. I’d recommend it for easing tiredness. Thanks to the staff for their help.

First time here. The water felt slippery in a good way, and I enjoyed the bath. Other hot springs have seemed weaker lately, though I know their water sources differ. I reckon more people would come if entry cost 500 to 600 yen.
