The owner is so welcoming that it's hard not to love this place. People in the neighborhood are warm, too. We were searching the streets for it when someone stopped and offered to guide us. There are free bikes, although many need repairs, and a donation box helps support the upkeep. You can rent snorkeling gear, and the owner speaks good English and gives helpful advice for outings. The kitchen and bathroom were clean, and the shared living areas were nice. The dorm beds were sturdy and clean, with blackout curtains and power at each one. Iriomote is very active about conservation. It was a founding member of the DarkSky project, and this place offers free filtered water for reusable bottles and has full recycling.

A tidy, cozy spot with really friendly staff. There's plenty of room to park in the front yard. If you're traveling on foot, you can ask them to pick you up at the port.

Nakasoko-san was kind and flexible when the booking site had problems, arranging a dorm bed for me directly. She also set up a rental car, helped me call to check on my scuba diving booking, and drove me to the port in the morning. The other guests were nice, too. There's free laundry and tea, plus a fridge and kitchen for cooking and a large Japanese-style shower room. Highly recommend it.

The English-speaking staff member was lovely and kind, helping us with everything while we planned the trip and during our stay. Our room was clean and spacious, and the shared areas had lots of facilities and were clean as well. We had a pleasant visit, and I'd strongly recommend the place.

The owner was very helpful and found us both a rental car and a great local place to eat. The rooms are comfortable, and the whole property is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this guesthouse.
