Yado Hanasaku

The room was spacious, comfortable, and tidy, and the staff were polite. Still, I was surprised by how much the cost-cutting showed. The balcony looks straight into the next room, there’s no open-air bath, and the bath is only available for one hour during the stay, with just a small shower in the room. Dinner seemed premade, and even Seven-Eleven’s premium or gold series tastes better. The place appears to be run by only two people, so I can imagine it’s hard to manage. A local restaurant owner in Tateyama had hinted that the inn was a bit questionable, so I arrived with low expectations, but it still fell short. It’s not worth the price, and there are plenty of better places to stay.

The meals were just right, and apparently dogs can stay here too. Our room was lovely and roomy, and the whole stay felt relaxing. It’s barrier-free as well. The futon was incredibly fluffy. I should have asked what brand the bedding was.

The steamed abalone in sake was especially memorable, just incredible ♡ Everything tasted great, and the ingredients really spoke for themselves. I think they carefully source good local produce and seafood.

The bedrock bath in the large public bath was my favorite part. The room and food were both great too, and the bar area is well worth a visit.
