The restaurant food was incredibly tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff were very kind. February was quiet, too. We stayed for three nights while taking our open water diving course, and I didn’t want to leave. Our twin room was huge, big enough for two families, with a large balcony overlooking the beach. The quality was amazing, especially for a room that was reasonably priced compared with other places nearby. It’s the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The location is lovely and quiet, and there are lots of activities. The staff were great, and they even called to make sure I got breakfast in time. There’s an airport shuttle, so use it, since the nearest bus stop is about a 45-minute walk away. The rooms are massive, clean, and have wonderful beds. The only downside was the thin walls. I could hear the upstairs neighbor running back and forth.

The ocean is just a few strides away, and you can rent snorkeling gear at the lobby. Bring your swimwear. The rooms have four beds, which makes this a good option for families, and they look out over the blue ocean. The food was great. The chef made lots of inventive dishes with local seafood. I especially loved the mozuku tempura and the different kinds of sashimi at dinner. This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

I had a great meal at the restaurant inside this hotel. They serve plenty of seafood and pork grown here in Amami, and I really liked the local drink called Miki.
