I travel around the country for work about 90 nights a year, and this was my third stay. For under ¥10,000, I thought it was a well-balanced, good hotel and a solid choice. It’s a bit old, but my room was clean and looked nice, almost too clean. The one thing I regret is that the bathroom exhaust fan hadn’t been cleaned. Amenities and other services were minimal, but it is a business hotel. During peak season in the area, I had to stay at nearby Sakaeya Hotel for ¥15,000, over my budget. That was good too, but I think Izukura is a good option as well.

I stayed from the 19th to the 21st, and the room was cleaned beautifully. They even washed my personal cups, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was tasty and gave me the energy to go to work. I’d like to stay again when I’m in Tendo City.

The price was low, but the place felt homey and was clean inside and out. It had all the facilities I needed. Hotels like this seem rare anywhere in the country. I’ll definitely come back.

They even pointed us to somewhere for dinner, so we got to enjoy our evening in Tendo. The free breakfast was more than enough, and the twin room looked recently renovated, with the toilet separate from the bathroom and a modern bidet and showerhead. For the price, I thought it was excellent value. One small quirk: in the morning our sheets had bunched up and weren’t keeping up with how we slept. Maybe that was part of the charm?

My child and I had a wonderful stay. It’s a quiet area, about a 10-15 minute walk from the station, and our spacious room had a lovely mountain view. The front desk staff were very kind and lent us bicycles for free. At breakfast, they explained everything carefully and even served us miso soup. We felt like royalty. I hope to see the front desk staff again.
