The price felt like a great deal for everything included, and I’d consider coming back even by train. Parking is free if you drive, and I think the station is about a 10-minute walk. My stay was a real delight. The rooms are modern, clean, well furnished, quiet, and comfortable. The hot spring was surprisingly good, with plenty of space, a clean interior, and a nicely decorated outdoor bath with momiji. There’s a selection of shampoos and conditioners with different effects that health-conscious guests can take back to their rooms. Everyone gets a free token for the hotel vending machine, and bookings through the official site include free breakfast. There was lots to choose from, including local dishes. When I was there, that meant Asuka hot pot, a tasty Nara staple with chicken broth and milk topped with chicken, tofu, and mushrooms, as well as oden and freshly fried tempura. A woman at reception spoke fluent English, guided me through check-in, and clearly explained all of this. For such a rural place, that was impressive. I know some Japanese, but her help would make things easier for foreign guests and help them experience the Japanese hospitality, Japanese hospitality. I left my coat behind after checkout. When I asked, they followed up quickly, found it, and offered to deliver it. I didn’t expect to get it back, but I was able to pick it up thanks to their help. That made an already good stay even better.
