The food, especially the fish, is delicious. After a soak, the hot spring bath feels lovely and warm. The place is right by the ocean, so fishing is an option. People who come back often seem to bring their own rods, but rentals are available too. Dinner is served around 5:30 to 6 p.m.; the bath is open from 4 to 10 p.m., and breakfast starts at 6 a.m.
My family of three stayed for a short trip. It's a straightforward bed-and-breakfast without much going on, and that's part of its appeal. The food was generous. Seems like good value if you're going fishing or just getting away for a short trip.
It's not in a convenient spot for sightseeing, but even during the busy Obon holiday there were hardly any people around. That made for a really peaceful stay. Mr. Matsumura is warm, and his cooking is delicious. I visit him nearly every year during Obon.
The owner and her children made us feel so welcome, and the ladies were lovely too. The fresh fish from Sugashima was soothingly good. It’s nearby, so I’ll be back!
I came for a fishing trip, and the embankment right in front of the inn made things easy. They even cooked the fish I caught for me.
