Hotel Resort Saikatei

We spent two nights in a room on the third floor, east side, and the ocean view made me gasp as soon as I walked in. It was over 100 square meters, with two glass windows facing the sea, and the morning sun was amazing. The food was excellent too, including Matsusaka beef, grilled sea bream, and abalone. The staff were very attentive and helpful. I’d definitely stay again.

I had a confirmed reservation through Agoda, but when I arrived, staff refused to let me stay because they said the hotel doesn’t accept infants. They arranged another hotel and told me to make my own way there. I’d clearly indicated I was traveling with an infant when I booked, but this restriction wasn’t mentioned on the booking site. If I couldn’t stay, they could have contacted me or canceled beforehand so I’d have time to find somewhere else. Being turned away without notice on arrival wasted my time and left me extremely confused and distressed. Traveling with an infant is especially difficult. Please be aware that the hotel may unilaterally cancel confirmed reservations without taking responsibility.

But when we arrived that evening, hotel staff suddenly told us they didn’t accept infants and asked us to cancel. They hadn’t contacted us by phone or email, so we had to find somewhere else to stay with our infant at the last minute, which seriously disrupted our itinerary. The hotel’s official website says infants aren’t allowed, but Agoda didn’t reflect that policy. By failing to tell guests beforehand, the hotel left us with the impression that bringing an infant was okay. Being refused when we arrived caused real damage and major inconvenience. I believe this came from poor information management and handling of accommodation requests. Anyone planning to stay with an infant or toddler should confirm the policy directly before booking. ⚠️ Important notice about infants and toddlers: I booked through Agoda, selected the option to bring an infant, and completed the reservation without a problem. When we arrived that evening, the hotel told us, "We apologize, we do not accept infants or toddlers," and asked us to cancel. There was no phone or email notice beforehand, and we were left looking for a place to stay with our infant. This disrupted our plans. The official hotel website says infants aren’t allowed, but Agoda hadn’t been updated with the same information. The hotel should have contacted us before we arrived. Being turned away at that point was unreasonable and caused us serious trouble.

The room was beautiful, and I got to see the sunrise in the morning 🌅. Having a kitchen meant I could cook, and the breakfast bread was amazing! ⭐️⭐️ I’d love to come back.
