The feast began with spiny lobster and moved on to abalone, and the whole meal made for a celebration we won't forget. My son is nearly 20, my grandfather is 82, and I'm 51, so it was three generations of men at the table celebrating my son's coming of age. We were delighted. Thank you so much.

This was my third visit, and I've been happy with the meals each time, even though I've seen some pretty critical comments about the food. We couldn't finish the grilled oysters or sashimi and had to leave some behind. Breakfast was a sensible portion, and the rice was especially good. The bath is generally used by one group at a time, with guests taking turns after a set period. We went first, and it was clean enough. There isn't a fridge in the room. There are vending machines in the building, but some drinks may be sold out. There's no Wi-Fi indoors. SoftBank and Rakuten both had good reception.

That dinner was a real feast: a boat platter, abalone, spiny lobster sashimi, and live tiger prawns. After calling around during Golden Week because I couldn't find anywhere with a room, I finally managed to book this guesthouse. I did think the price sounded high at first, but the generous dinner and the lighter, still-filling breakfast left me very satisfied. The photo is of breakfast. Best trip ever.

They were flexible when we needed to change our meal time, and the creative dishes felt like a real treat. I was disappointed, though, that the bathroom wasn't very clean and that our family room was suddenly divided into two rooms.
