The room was spotless, with two room locks, bathroom sanitary products, and plenty of tea bags. It felt like a thoughtful inn. We had a relaxing bath and could even rent a fishing rod to go fishing, which made for a refreshing break. The meal was generous and delicious from start to finish: tender Matsusaka beef steak and steamed abalone, a big sweet fried shrimp, and fresh fish prepared as sashimi, simmered dishes, and grilled dishes that brought out their flavor. The sea urchin rice at the end was a treat, and the fried local onions were sweet and tasty too. I’d love to come back.

Set in Kunizaki, Toba City, this guesthouse is in an old building, but it’s well kept and the rooms are clean. Dinner was a real feast, with the inn’s spiny lobster and abalone alongside whole sea bream sashimi, salt-grilled tiger prawns, fried shrimp, clam soup, and sea urchin rice. The sea bream sashimi tasted even better dipped into clam soup warmed in a single-serving pot, shabu-shabu style. The next morning’s breakfast included the previous day’s boiled sea bream bones and spiny lobster miso soup, which were excellent. I highly recommend the inn.

The drive in took us along a mountain road that looked like it led to a lonely house, but arriving was like seeing a before-and-after photo, lol. The building was stylish and cute, and it was close to the sea. The owner was very kind, and the service was excellent. Best trip I've ever had!

We came for spiny lobster and each had one as sashimi. The flounder and sea bream boat platter was delicious too, as was the soft grilled abalone.
