Oyado The Earth Hotel

We stayed two nights in the pool suite, and it was one of the best holidays I've had. I spent most of the time in the private warm-water pool or the private indoor/outdoor onzen bath, taking in the beautiful coastline. The view over the ocean kept changing, with clouds shifting in the distance. The local food was top notch. Hard to put the whole experience into words.

Our recently renovated suite was excellent, especially the terrace bath where we could soak for ages and listen to waves breaking on the rocks below. This return visit happened to fall on the hotel's 17th anniversary, so they had a special dinner menu. The food, service, and presentation throughout every meal were already such high quality that it would be hard to improve on them. Everything felt perfect. We'll plan to come back, and wish the staff and management all the best for the next 17 years and beyond.

😉 Thanks for everything. We came in early August for a special occasion and were immediately taken by the view across Ise Bay and the quiet, secluded setting. The staff welcomed us warmly and professionally, then showed us to our room with such care. From the suite, the sea and sky changed from hour to hour. I won't forget the sunset, when the horizon turned amber and gold. Dinner was made up of local Ise-Shima seafood, carefully cooked and beautifully presented. Being here made it easy to tune out city noise and settle into the stillness of nature. If you're visiting Toba, this retreat is an absolute must.

Set in the forest on a cliff above the ocean, the location is superb and great for stargazing. Our room was spacious, and having dinner served in the suite gave us a bit more privacy. Dinner was very good, while breakfast was quite simple. Five stars.
