The rooms have fresh, clean furniture, with wood floors throughout, which personally aren't my preference. You get disposable slippers and other amenities, and there are outlets by the bed, though the desk is small. There are two elevators, but the front desk is upstairs on the second floor, and I found that confusing at first because it wasn't clearly marked. Check-in is mostly done at a machine that takes cash, cards, and QR payments. It's quick once you know how, though I can see it being confusing if you're not used to it. The whole building uses central air conditioning, and I found the humidity hard to adjust even with the heat on. There's no hotel parking, but a nearby coin lot cost about 600 yen on a weekday. The convenience store is a bit of a walk and there aren't many restaurants around, though that's down to the location. There's no TV streaming, either.
Breakfast was a letdown: with an hour and a half still left before the dining area closed, most of the Neapolitan spaghetti was gone. They took it away without bringing more, leaving an already limited selection even smaller. The room had a body towel hanging on the shower rail that looked like someone else had used it. I also didn't discover until later that there was no toothbrush in the room. Someone was at the desk while I checked in by machine, but they didn't come over or explain what amenities were available. The location is the only good thing about this terrible hotel.
The rooms were quiet, with no train or traffic noise, so the facilities themselves made for a comfortable stay. But the housekeeping was poor: there were no towels or tissues, and shampoo was leaking in the room. Self check-in came with no help, and staff didn't even greet me when they were around. The hotel felt lonely and wasn't convenient. The people running it were a real disappointment.
The location is handy, right beside the station with shops and places to eat close by. They usually have basics like facial cleanser, lotion and body towels, and I liked the welcome coffee. The shampoo bar, or whatever it is, wasn't the branded one shown on the website, but seemed similar to the hotel's usual amenities. There's no phone or hotel guide in the room. I was sometimes ignored when I greeted staff. I also couldn't find any website information about cleaning days or a sign to opt out, so I assumed that leaving towels outside meant they'd be collected daily. I left my things out in the room on that assumption, but one day they came in and cleaned without warning. That felt really unpleasant, and in all the hotels I've stayed at, it's never happened before. A big minus for me. They say laundry is free, but only one machine is free; the other is a typical coin laundry machine. The free one seems like a home washer, with no pre-wash option or lid lock, and the dryer was full of dust. If you want service beyond what a regular hotel provides, Sunroute is a better choice.
