Matsudai Tanadahouse

The quick response and smooth check-in meant a lot when one of my friends needed somewhere to stay after an accident at the nearby ski resort. The staff were welcoming, and I'll definitely return on my next trip to Niigata Prefecture. I was there February 10-12. Reception staff availability in Japanese and English depends on who's working. Everything was clean and organized, with spacious lavatory and shower areas. There's also a lounge with a fridge where anyone can eat.

I'm really enjoying my stay. The staff are friendly and breakfast is terrific. My compact room has air conditioning and a simple, comfortable bunk bed, and everything is spotlessly clean.

The staff are lovely, and there's plenty of room, including a common area. The facilities are well equipped and clean. It's about a 10 minute walk from the station.

I especially enjoyed breakfast, which was homemade by local mothers. The miso soup, vegetables, and rice were delicious, and the dining room had a warm feel. I recommend the place for its nostalgic training camp atmosphere. It's simple, clean, and within walking distance of Matsushiro Station, with very welcoming staff. I found a great place. Apparently, it once served as a boarding house for junior high school students who couldn't commute from home in the snowy winter months. I can only imagine how lonely it must have felt to be away from their parents. The facility has been beautifully renovated with an open design, and the price is reasonable. It seems well suited to solo travelers and families alike.
