HOTEL RIRAKU - Adult Only

Before the renovation I used to come here often, but I eventually stopped. The place is reasonably priced and looks clean at first glance, so maybe it's fine for a short visit. Still, sometimes the towels smelled of semen, and staff weren't happy to replace them when I asked. Touching the handrails and faucets sometimes left the same smell on my hands, enough to make me wonder if used towels were being used to wipe things down.

The room had plenty of space and the amenities were great. Thanks for having me.

I knew the room would be small, so its size wasn't an issue, but the cigarette smell was so strong it made me feel sick. I could only spray the provided deodorizer around. The bathroom and sink also looked much plainer than the photos, and the bath had such weak water pressure that filling it and rinsing my hair took a while. Worse, the water stopped while I was rinsing before getting out, and stayed off for more than five minutes. I was freezing. Membership seems to unlock a lot: for a few hundred yen, overnight guests can order a welcome drink and breakfast curry, plus use other member-only rental items. If you're staying, you should register. It seems you need to do it before checking in, but I only found out after entering the room. Nobody explained it at the front desk, which felt unfriendly. There was an explanation in the room, but I had to wait a long time. This was the worst hotel ever.

This feels like a tucked-away little find. I came back after quite a while, and it still has that same reassuring feel as before. [From my previous post] Since it's part of the Grassino chain, the facilities and service are pretty much the same. For the price, it actually felt like a good deal. If you're coming more than once, I think it's worth getting the 300-yen membership card. The artificial hot spring was another nice touch, with water that felt good.
