For me, being near the station is a priority when choosing a hotel, and this one is close to it as well as plenty of well-known shops. Menoh classic tokushima ramen is just across the street, while Donoura ramen, with its superb fish-stock broth, is about a 10-minute walk away. There’s no closing time at the entrance, so you can come and go freely, and staff are always at reception. I paid just 35 USD a night when I stayed in September 2021. What a price! The hotel has a little shop, a public bath, and even a corner where you can try on henro (pilgrimage) clothing, something unique to Shikoku. My room was large, with the toilet area, including the sink, shower, and toilet, separated from the living and sleeping areas. It had a typical Japanese ryokan style. I’d stay here again next time.

Its main draw is the location near Tokushima station. The hotel is probably three stars at best.

The location is perfect, and the staff are very friendly and speak English.

I spent one weekday night here on a business trip to Tokushima. I picked it mainly for the Japanese-style room and large public bath. The hotel name made me expect an old place, but the reception area was quite clean. The landlady was very polite, and check-in was comfortable. My room was Japanese style, with an 8-tatami room and veranda, about 10 tatami mats in all. It had a shower but no bathtub, plus a separate toilet. I actually prefer having the shower and toilet apart to having a unit bath. The large bath was open until 11pm and again from 6am, so I could enjoy a soak both evening and morning. There was no meal included, but being close to the station meant lots of restaurants were nearby. For dinner I had Tokushima specialties, Awaodori chicken and Naruto wakame seaweed, at Yasubei next door. I’d definitely stay here again on another trip to Tokushima.
