At night I heard strange sounds very close by, like something slowly scuttling in the walls and a plastic bag being dragged. It freaked me out. The outlet cover was damaged, so my charger wouldn't plug in all the way, and the outlet was too far from the bed to use my phone there. The room had stains everywhere. The curtain and wall looked nasty in the photos. Still, things were neat, and the bathroom came with hand soap, shampoo packets, a razor, hair tie, brush, toothbrush, and other bits. There was no bathroom trash can, and the slippers were plastic leather flip-flops you use around the room and bathroom, not disposable ones. Check-in is at a kiosk on the second floor, which was dark and weird. The first floor felt suspiciously empty, with no one around and no lights on, and you have to walk down a dim hallway to reach the small elevator. There's basically no service. The area is quiet and residential, but only accessible by bus. It works as a decent place to stay, but I wouldn't say it's worth more than $40/8000 yen.

I booked the private room for one. It's small, like a college single room, but worth it if you're travelling on a budget. I could walk to popular spots like seijo temple and sumida river.

The location worked well for my first time in Japan, and the stay wasn't bad overall. But the room was only clean on the surface. I found someone else's underwear under a bed, and it was dusty underneath. There was no coffee, and the room wasn't cleaned for two days.

There are a Family Mart, drug store, and grocery store nearby, and the place is clean. Our room for three was spacious and had all the amenities. You can request room service, but you need to ask in advance. Self check-in was efficient, and the elevators worked. It would be easier if the buttons for open and close had English translations. The price felt worth it.

It's a quiet neighborhood, away from the action. Getting around means walking or taking the bus, since it's not near a subway or train station. It's listed as a 1 star hotel, but in Japan I expect a clean, well-maintained stay regardless of the star rating.
