Akasaka Urban Hotel

The service was amazing, and the staff were so helpful. The metro was close, though the neighborhood felt more like a business area. We didn't enjoy the stay as much as we expected, whether that was Tokyo itself or the hotel. The bed and bathroom were both really small, and the shower pressure hurt.

The rooms are small, though not terribly so, but the bathroom is definitely the most cramped and inconvenient part. There is a smell in there, as some other comments mention. I noticed it too, but it seemed connected to the old construction rather than cleanliness, and it wasn't terribly annoying. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and food options, and the subway is nearby for getting to Tokyo's different tourist spots. The service was the best part for me: the employees were always helpful and had a great attitude when dealing with questions or requests. I'd recommend the hotel and stay again.

My main issue was the lighting. The room had really bright white bulbs that made it feel like an office, not very cozy. I prefer the warm yellow lights most places have. The room itself was fairly small, fine for one or two people, and the staff were friendly and respectful. They could provide an iron and board, among other things. It's an easy walk from the station, with lots of little shops nearby, but the area isn't very busy.

The room was small, as you'd expect in Japan, but the hotel was really accommodating to us as foreigners, and we're grateful for that. Everyone was so welcoming and genuinely kind that when we left, we said we'd come back if we had the chance. The subway is just down the street, with plenty of food and beautiful Akasaka sights nearby.
