Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills Hotel

The staff were so kind and helpful, and I loved the little details, like how they coiled our electronic cords during room cleaning and used cute silicone wraps to hold them in place. We took the wraps home and use them on every trip. The room was spacious and well equipped, and the spa was next-level. I went to the onsen every day, and as someone with tattoos, I was relieved I didn’t have to cover them while bathing. There’s a subway line directly below the hotel, and Ginza’s great shopping is a short walk away. One of my best hotel stays. I highly recommend getting a room with a Tokyo Tower view, it’s incredible.

We only had one night, but it made our last day in Tokyo memorable and exceeded my expectations. The king-bed room was about the size of a studio apartment, with a Tokyo Tower view. I hadn’t realised the hotel occupied the top floors of the huge building. The train station underneath makes the location especially convenient, and you can get there without going outside in the rain. Staff were polite and helpful. The sushi restaurant felt like a private dinner and served one of the best sushi meals we had in Japan. Breakfast was among the best I’ve ever had, with loads of great options. Two things could improve: smokers take over the rooftop patio, and happy hour has limited seating.

We spent four nights here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a great spot for walking or using public transit, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Once they heard it was our honeymoon, they left us a lovely note and offered a few extras. They took great care of our room and went above and beyond. There’s a small laundry facility very close by, which was empty when we used it and takes 100 yen coins only. The gym has several cardio machines, about five common Technogym machines, a Smith machine, dumbbells from 1 to around 30 kg, and a small mat area for yoga or stretching that’s usually empty. To find reception, go into the larger building, walk toward the middle of the hallway, and turn through the doors marked Andaz. The elevators behind them go up to the 50th floor. We’d definitely stay again.

The pool and jacuzzis were a big hit with the kids, and the steam room and lockers were spotless. We found the whole place peaceful, and even though we usually took cabs after long days instead of trekking back to the station, the location worked for us. Ginza is close enough for a walk or a quick 10-minute cab ride. Our connecting King and Twin rooms suited the group perfectly. We added a rollaway to the Twin room and still had plenty of space. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate each day. Breakfast wasn’t a huge spread, but what they served was excellent. The staff were lovely, especially the consistently helpful valet team. We’d happily stay again. As Hyatt Globalists, though, we were disappointed not to receive a room upgrade. The Andaz Tokyo was otherwise a relaxing, family-friendly stay with great rooms and facilities.
