APA Hotel Akihabara Ekimae

The staff came across as robotic and unfriendly, and the constant train noise was hard to bear. By the third night I felt ready to snap. The room is so tiny you can’t open a suitcase or move around, like a prison cell. It seems built for short business stays with just an overnight bag, and didn’t suit solo travelers or couples.

The bed was comfortable, though not luxurious, and the staff were very nice. They provide plenty of amenities. There’s a little convenience shop on the first floor, though a 7-11 is only two minutes away.

The luggage fits under the bed, which is handy. The room was new, clean, and quiet, and it’s a five to ten minute walk from the station.

The check-in staff were courteous, and even wiped down my suitcase after it got a little wet in the drizzle. I liked my first stay at an APA Hotel. The room was clean, and its TV information was great, including an option to schedule late checkout right on the monitor. The rooms are smaller than the ones I usually book, about 120 square feet versus 150, but that was fine for me alone. Two people might find it a squeeze.
