APA Hotel Ayase Ekimae

The staff were kind and always ready to help, and I was glad there was a bathtub. It’s a quiet spot with good connections on the Chiyoda line. The heat was the hardest part of my stay. Once they turned it on, the room got so humid that I was sweating and couldn’t sleep. The room and bathroom were also too small.

The neighborhood is quiet and away from the crowds, but the metro is very close, so getting across the city is easy. Staff were lovely, polite, and humble, and the rooms and their equipment were very clean. They’ll do the daily room cleanup if you ask. The rooms are cozy, though compact, which is just the Japanese style 😅

Clean room and a great stay, with the station nearby. There’s a 7-11, but no parking, and the elevator can take a while. The sign said the whole building was set to either AC or heat, so even on a hot day in October you couldn’t change the setting in your own room once they switched to heat. Maybe lots of people complained last time, because between my stays they changed it from heat back to AC and put up signs explaining it.

The rooms are compact, but the space is put to good use. The bed is high enough to tuck a large suitcase underneath, and there’s a mini fridge. They leave fresh towels and a clean room bag each day, and refresh the toiletries every three days. WiFi was great, and there are laundry machines and dryers on site. It’s a block from Ayase Station and a bus stop. Staff were helpful, and they can hold your bags if you arrive before check-in. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, but with the meal plan you get a voucher for breakfast at the tasty Doutor coffee a block away. Snacks and drinks are sold in the little lobby shop, and a 7-11 is right next door. A great choice for solo travelers.
