Aya Hotel

The room was huge, the biggest hotel room I’ve stayed in. Check-in and checkout were both self-service, which worked really well, and staff replied quickly when I had questions. It’s close to the subway and convenience stores. The only small downside was carrying luggage without an elevator, which got heavy.

Being so close to the station made getting to Asakusa and Ueno convenient. The surrounding residential area was quiet at night, and there were plenty of useful shops nearby: a pharmacy, a 100-yen store, two supermarkets, and a convenience store. I stayed four nights in a fourth-floor quad room. There was no stair access, but the room itself was roomy enough to spread out three large suitcases. The host handles the trash, too.

Self check-in was simple, especially nice if you’re introverted 😄. We had Wi-Fi and stayed on the second floor, so the lack of an elevator wasn’t an issue for us. Several train stations are close, and Asakusa Kaminarimon took about 20 minutes to reach. We were very happy with the stay.

Markets and the station are nearby, so the location is handy. There’s no elevator, just stairs.
