bnb+ Akihabara - Hostel, Caters to Women

I stayed for a week, and the people there gave the place a homely feel. It also felt very safe, and the staff were friendly. I found it worth the money and experience, and I'd stay again. Check-in and check-out were easy with the self-service process: just read the sign on the door and follow the pictures. She speaks enough English and Japanese. The location worked well, a quick walk from the stations and the center of Akihabara. The hostel was cleaned every day, with enough showers, sinks, mirrors, and toilets for everyone. Even when it was full, I never had to wait. The beds are capsule-sized, as expected, but surprisingly comfortable. There are lots of free amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers and straighteners, Q-tips, water, tea, and coffee. The bathroom lighting was good for makeup. The bed spaces can feel a little damp, though I knew they were capsule-style from the pictures. There's little room to open luggage, and a large suitcase would be difficult to manage. The lobby is tiny, maybe enough for four people, which also adds to the homely feeling. Towels and toothbrushes cost extra, but they were very, very cheap.

I was able to rest well, and every staff member treated me kindly. Safety and communication are key to what makes this lovely hostel work. The staff look after and maintain the space every day.

The neighborhood is quiet, with convenience stores close by, and Akihabara Station is a short walk away. Tokyo Station is just a couple of stops away. I stayed a few nights and had a good experience overall. The hostel has Wi-Fi, an elevator, a fridge, and a seating area for meals. Free coffee was nice, and I appreciated the blow dryer and hair straightener. The bathroom lighting worked well for makeup, and the shower has an attached dressing room. It gets a little cramped. The bunks are standard size, with no shelves, and storage is limited. The small lockers won't hold a full backpack. It was a bit noisy at times, and the trash cans were often full. Still, the basics are covered for a short stay in a convenient spot.

A women-only hostel with an elevator, which is especially handy. There are plenty of transport options: the direct train from Narita stops at higashi-nihombashi, about a 10-minute walk away, and Shinjuku also has a direct train. Akihabara Station is around seven minutes on foot, with a direct bus to kawaguchiko.
